I think it’s pretty much in the name. We’re nerds, and we’re from the Midwest. We’re into video games, comic books, Lost, Star Trek, DnD, and the like. What else are we supposed to spend our time doing in the 8 months of winter there are up here? Don’t worry about the fact that we still spend our afternoons inside on glorious, sunshine filled summer days.

But guess what? This doesn’t mean we know everything. Yeah, we’ve got an RSS feed or two about gaming news. That doesn’t mean we caught the latest rumor about Kojima teasing a teaser of a teaser of his new game. Yeah, we take games seriously, but we probably missed that 7 page treatise on why games are art on The Escapist. It may not seem like it, but each of us have something that at least resembles a real life.

So, what are we going to do? Well, we’ll have a weekly podcast that can be found on iTunes or the Zune Marketplace. Also, we’ll post our thoughts on whatever strikes our fancy at the time. Might be an opinion on a recent announcement, a video game review, or the retelling of a grand tale of domination.

Joel – I’m the editor here at Midwest Nerds. That’s the kind of job you get with a degree in Engineering, right?

Nick – The rage-filled designer of the website. Created the layout and the fancy little graphics you see around here.

Jason – A professional radio DJ. The reason why our podcast, like Santana champ, is so crisp.

Steve – The court jester. In case of zombie apocalypse, sticking with him is your best chance at survival.
